The number of internet users in India will boost up by 200 million customers with low price computers, notebooks and cheaper broadband connectivity, while the countries wireless service WIMAX will reach 19 million by the end of the year 2012. According to a recent study, the customers of WIMAX will be getting increased by 130% every year. Currently most of the customers are using data cards, fixed lines and mobiles to access the high speed broadband internet.

But there are many problems like interruption of connection, ADSL line faults and Ethernet error, these days new technologies are put into action which has high speed and connectivity to overcome the problems caused by the outdated technologies. In the field of Information and Communication, there has been a rapid change in two aspects they are voice side and data or broadband. There was a rapid growth in these aspects in the last two year. Voices have been shown tremendous growth in the field of mobile and the broadband has also shown greater improvements in its speed.

Indian communication market can be divided largely into three categories rural, urban and semi-urban. WIMAX and 3G will be soon gaining the market in the urban area. But these will become a rub-off effect on semi-urban areas. 3G will cause a tremendous growth in India leading to a development in technological side as well as on the communication.

A powerful high speed broadband service will be provided to business centers by 5G telecommunications which was previously called as Universal telecom. It is an UK based broadband service provider that offers high power broadband to its subscribers. 5G telecommunications are specialized in providing broadband solutions to business centers as well as for the marketing solutions. The officials at 5G telecommunications said that their new services will use “FTTC” or Fiber to the Cabinet connections to offer high speed.

A maximum download speed of 100mbs will be provided to the customers who sign up for their new connections, also they guarantee 15mb download speed for all the customers.

A company spokesperson from 5G telecommunications announced that, ““The potential download speeds businesses can experience are second to none, as is service reliability, and of course this is something which can’t be compromised in the business world.”

Multi channel video, voice and high speed services are offered by FTTC networks. Most of the business services are impressed by the broadband solutions provided by 5G telecommunications.

An UK based broadband comparison site said, “Consumers now expect more from broadband as they are using more and more sophisticated internet service.” High band width services such as VoIP telephones and internet television services are expected by regular broadband subscribers
Philips product director of broadband choices.co.uk said that, “broadband companies could be clearer about what services they are offering”. Also he added that, “consumers would have a more realistic idea of what to expect from their broadband connection if ISPs were more conservative in their marketing”.

Regular usage of VoIP phones could save more money as well as the economy of the nation. High tech internet providers would provide the latest internet services and can get back the complete satisfaction of customers.

FCC plans to redefine the policy and protect the broadband consumers, the future of the broadband will be guarded by the new policies. There are more chances of a battle to explode between the telecom companies and federal regulators.
Scott the policy director of Free press said that, “This policy could determine whether the FCC really has the power to act on its broadband plan.”

Popular telecom companies such as AT&T Inc, Verizon communications and other big players will fight out legally in the court battle to find out who’s the cyber boss. Representative of AT&T, Verizon, Time Warner Cable Inc. and leading industry groups Genachowski said that, “any move by FCC would be a profound mistake with harmful and lasting consequences for consumers and our economy.”

Scott quoted that, “It seems clear that the FCC will decide that its experiment with classifying broadband as an information service has failed and that they’ll revisit the earlier decision, moreover he added that, “Because of the court ruling, telecom companies now hold all the cards,” he said. “If the FCC does anything they don’t like, they can just go back to the courts and say that the agency doesn’t have the authority to do it.”

Let us wait and see who is going to win the battle, whether FCC or giant telecommunication players.

Berkeley is one of the places that offer best education in the world, but now in addition it is the fastest place of internet. In the United States where people regularly throng the internet, Berkeley ranks the first in the fastest internet followed Chapel Hill, N.C., Stanford, Calif. and Durham. According to a report by Akamai a webhosting company last week, Berkley ranked the fastest in the broadband connection for the fourth quarter of 2009. Akamai’s clients include Apple and Hulu.

According to S Waggener, Vice chancellor of Information and Technology, “UC Berkeley connects to the Cairen network, which is used for statewide research and education, high capacity is provided via multiple high bandwidth connections”

Senior public relations manager for Akamai Jennifer D said that, around the globe there are sixty one thousand servers. More than 20% of the internet traffic is tracked by these servers everyday recording the download time taken and the requests given to them.

S Waggener, VC said that two independent sets of connections are used to provide reliability, 13 gigabits per second by one set and 10 gigabits per second by another set. UC Berkeley senior Jose Roberto said, “I routinely use the campus network due to its poor connection at home”
Director of market intelligence at Akamai David said,” College towns likely enjoy these higher measured speeds due to the high bandwidth connections available at the universities.”

Some of the states in the country received negative response during 3G auction, while this accounted for 50% throughout this nation. More than 15 states showed negative response over the 3G, they include Jammu and Kashmir, Orissa, Himachal Pradesh and all seven north eastern states. Even after nine days of bidding, these places have not even witnessed 1% increase in auction, also states like West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Madhya Pradesh showed negative results during bidding.

Lord Mayor Campbell Newman of Brisbane has decided to get broadband networks with high speed connectivity to the businesses and residents of Brisbane. Based upon a recent survey, speed of the connectivity was more than half (61%) and it was “critical”. Cr Newman said that, “My point to the Federal Government has continued to be if you come to Brisbane you will deal with one local government organization and do a million people and tens of thousands of businesses, So we would like to see NGB progressed in Brisbane first and we are looking into ways to make that happen.’’

The federal government has made new ideas, so as to bring out network to all people across regional, rural and metropolitan areas. Cr Newman has made talks with the government, academic leaders and industry to offer high speed broadband. He quoted that, “Irrespective of what the Federal Government does, they are putting forward proposals because they want a roll out in our city right now,’’ “And there are technologies that dramatically undercut the delivery of that physical infrastructure that we are keen to progress.’’

Nearly 8.59 million people use broadband in India during the end of February 2010, and there will be a leap of 100 million broadband subscribers by 2014. Spokes person from Intel has told that, “Wireless technologies such as WiMax (worldwide interoperability for microwave access) will drive the broadband growth in India”. Lil Mohan Intel managing director (WiMax programme office-APAC and META business development) added that, “India has over 8.5 million broadband customers as of now and the copper line infrastructure is limited. So going wireless is the only option for India and the growth will come from wireless technologies like WiMax”.

Wimax offers high speed data transfer which helps on faster downloads of data, songs film or anything from the internet. Over the next four years most of the broadband would be on wireless system which is easy for the user as well as the service provider. Mohan also quoted that, “The next few years are big for WiMax and one would see huge growth in numbers. High-speed data access is expected to bridge the urban-rural digital divide and help address concerns of delivering essential services like education, finance and healthcare”.

According to a study by McKinsey, GDP increases by 0.6 percent for every 10 percent increase in broadband penetration in the country. Mohan also said that, “Pricing is going to be important as it has been for the telecom industry. It will provide people access to high-speed broadband, which will further bring in growth for the economy.” The government of India has assigned Rs.1750 crore for the pan-India spectrum license. 2.3 MHz spectrum of two blocks will be available for auction and bidders can launch their services immediately to increase the broadband services for customers.

There will be a great revolution in broadband connectivity and speed especially in Wireless service within few years. Let’s wait for the Wire free World.
