Our mother India is one of the fastest developing countries. We are developed in many fields like business, education etc. Now it’s developing in communication field. In telecom field it is advancing towards 3G technologies. This new technologies are very advanced that makes the mobile users to communicate with their loved ones through videos. This has made a new revolution in the telecom field.

The fifth India digital Summit took place on December 7 2010 at Delhi. In the internet and mobile association the TRAI chairman Sharma spoke about the development of Telecom industries. He said that to resolve the issues in using the 3G technologies the regulator must took part in it. He explained about the future plans to be executed by the government in the development of broadband.

The government has focused to develop broadband in the village areas. They planned to encourage the village cable network sectors that can collect and operate networks in very bad conditions. The plan will extend broadband connections to each and every village in India that has a population of about more than 500 people. This plan will be in action very soon.

The village panchayats in India will be connected to broadband access by 2012 and it will reach the entire villages having the population more than five hundred by 2013. Kathuria the professor of Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER) states that a big connection is there between the Gross Domestic Product GDP the economic status and the broadband connections .For every 10% increase in broadband connection will increase the economic status of our country will probably increase by 1.1%. Now a day this is low because of the lack of broadband connections.

And finally he states that the development of the telecom will can help the development of all other infrastructures. We can’t grow unless and until we use the ingredients we are having for our growth. We are putting our efforts to put fiber optic cable in the village areas for the usage of 3G technologies in villages. Soon we will regulate and take the steps for the growth of internet broadband access in villages. If these plans worked out then our mother nation will attain a great development.

Google introduces the new wireless broadband services named TiSP which means Toilet Internet Service Provider. It is basically for in-home internet users. It is fully functional that everyone accesses it from inside their home.

Working:

It is end to end operation. It is a wireless operation carried by a TiSP wireless router connected using fiber optic cables through sewage lines with one of the TiSP nodes.

Installation:

The installation of TiSP is very easy. The following are the steps to be followed to install this:

Take the fiber optic cable from the installation kit and attach the loose with the sinker.

The weighed end should be dropped into the sinker and flush it. Flushing made the weighed end to connect with the TiSP node using the plumbing system.

Carefully remove the cable from the spindle without allowing the cable to slip into the toilet.

Connect the cable with the TiSP router which designed specially to withstand the force of flushing.

To install the required Google toolbar insert the installation CD and run the setup utility.

No need to set the network settings of the computer which is automatically installed by the TiSP Software.

You will be online within an hour so that the cable should have reached the TiSP nodes for which the plumbing dispatchers will remove the sinker line and connect the line with their global network.

Safe Usage:

TiSP provide safe usage because of its using the fiber optic cable. It won’t get affected by our daily flush activities. It is Vacuum sealed to prevent it from water.

Drawbacks:

The main drawback is TiSP is useful only for flush type sinker user inside the home. Also for connection it requires central sewer systems. It won’t support automatic toilet cleaners. We can’t use it from outside of the home.

Others:

It can give a maximum download speed of 32 Mbps which means 40 times of the basic DSL.

The maximum upload speed is 8 Mbps.

Google offers free services for a download speed limit of 8Mbps.

For mobile use the TiSP on the Run (TiSPOTR) is in progress which we can expect soon from them.

It is easy to enhance the speed of broadband connection using either software or hardware, it increases your data transfer speed and offers high speed connectivity.

(1)Remove unwanted applications that reduce the broadband speed

Few of the applications such as automatically updating antivirus software, Skype and other desktop widgets could make the broadband connection sluggish. Automatically starting applications on start up must be turned off. It could in turn boost up your speed.

(2) Broadband speed must be tested at regular intervals

You might be waiting for a long time to download a particular software or application. But regular checking of the speed helps you to notice the change in speed from time to time. Even a slight variation in speed in microseconds could affect the downloading capacity. You can get it right either by contacting the broadband service provider or removing any unwanted applications in your system that affects the speed of computer. There are much online software’s to evaluate the speed of broadband connection.

(3)Change your modem or router

You may be provided with a modem of specific type when you have signed up for a new broadband connection. If the speed of your internet connection is dropping currently, it is essential to replace modem or router with a new one. 3G modem always require modern modems with latest technology to provide an uninterrupted broadband connection. Antenna type modems are more suitable for 3G connection.

In addition router has to be setup with maximum security as there are chances of people leaching your connection. More they leach the connection will become more slower. Also password should not be obvious it must be strong so as no one cannot login into your broadband account.

A New Zealand based company has created a new device that could increase the speed of broadband connectivity as many as 50 times of the original speed. It looks more or less like a modem and is manufactured by remote management systems. Broadband speed can be enhanced by re-wiring the existing broadband connection with less than $800.

Google the world’s internet giant has urged the Telecom authority of India to provide net neutrality throughout the country. It could facilitate customers to access various service and products irrespective of the service provider or operator.

Google said that, “An open Internet is good for Indian consumers and businesses. To unlock the full potential of a national broadband network and the Internet access it will deliver, it is crucial to implement policies that maintain the Internet’s fundamentally open, neutral, non-discriminatory nature”
In countries like USA net neutrality is becoming a major problem and service providers promote content of higher revenue and block other contents provided by rival operators. Customers are highly affected by the rivalries between the different service providers. Internet has been remained neutral as it neither owned by neither government nor corporate. But off late, telecom companies want to earn more profits as that of content providers and so they started restrictions on the services provided by them to customers.
In its petition to TRAI Google has said, “Keeping the Internet open is about more than Google; it’s about the next Google – and making sure that the Internet remains an open ecosystem, where new ideas can succeed, and new business models can flourish on their own merits. Indeed, Google’s story is the story of myriad other companies that have become global brands in a matter of years or even months. Skype went from an Estonian start-up to being a major competitor in international calling. Facebook went from being a small college project to being a platform used by millions”

It also added that, “In designing the regulatory environment for a National Broadband Network, TRAI should consider the ways in which broadband providers’ practices can threaten the fundamental openness of the Internet. Consideration should be given to promoting a regulatory environment that protects user choice, competition and innovation on the Internet”.

Virgin one of the leaders in broadband service has attacked the business counterparts for providing false advertisements to the consumers about the speed of internet. He has urged the government to crack down the case as it is investing hundreds of millions of pound for a high speed broadband connectivity to consumers across UK.

Guy Parker Chief executive of Advertising standards Authority (ASA) said that, “The ASA is committed to ensuring that broadband ads are legal, decent, honest and truthful. Technology is developing quickly, which is why we recently asked the bodies responsible for writing the advertising codes to look at broadband advertising speed claims as part of a wider review of the sector. Ads can’t, of course, contain all there is to know about a service but that doesn’t justify headline speed claims that mislead”.

Berkett wants to crack down Ofcom’s marketing claims and wants the government to make the broadband rules stricter. He also added that, “We have been arguing for over a year that DSL operators talking about ‘up to’ 20Mb is grossly misleading; I won’t say lying, but damn close,” he said. You can’t talk about ‘up to’ 20Mb when the majority of customers are getting an average of 6Mb”

Virgin’s media’s 10 mb plans run at 9 on average and previously it was 8.7mb. Its 20mb and 50mb run at 90% of their advertised speed.

Speed of the Fibre –to-home Broadband service has been increased to 150mbps by Eircomm. More than 10,000 homes and businesses get benefitted highly in Sandyford, Dublin. It has been increased as a part of its €20m trial plan. Eircomm’s CEO Paul Donovan said that, this is a trial plan to estimate the total cost of materials and civil engineering works.
By spring 2011 all customers will be connected by this high speed internet connectivity. Donovan told that, “A lot of people right now are watching the World Cup on their PCs, We’ve decided that there’s been a lot of talk about next-generation access and we’ve decided to work with the industry to take a lead in making this investment, by making sure from day one we provide incentives for other operators to join us, the world will be consuming interesting bandwidth-hungry applications and we think it is vital that the pilot provides pointers for industry on how to invest in these networks.”

The government has also welcomed the plans by Eircomm, Eamon Ryan minister for telecommunication said that, “I very much welcome this announcement by Eircom, the latest in a line of significant developments in Ireland’s broadband story. My department’s National Broadband Scheme has cracked the availability issue and will deliver broadband to every area of Ireland this autumn – three years ahead of the EU target of 2013 and 10 years ahead of the USA’s target of 2020.”

He also added that, “The speed and quality of broadband has been firmly in my sights since I published my NGB policy paper last year. My policy, based on facilitating competition and providing investment certainty is now beginning to bear fruit, as far as speeds are concerned. Eircom’s announcement today is one of the most important developments in recent years and will result in huge bandwidth being provided to the trialled homes and businesses. This development, along with the rollout of 100Mbps capability by the cable operator, demonstrates the market’s appetite to respond to the demands for bigger bandwidth,”

BT’s Chief executive Officer (CEO) has announced that, “London is already one of the best connected cities in the world, and our investment plan will ensure that it stays ahead of the pack”. He also added that, “Our investment will see Londoners have access to both fibre and advanced copper broadband services well in advance of the London Olympics.”

Boris Johnson, the mayor of London has welcomed the announcement of BT. He also said that, “The illustrious progenitor of the internet, Tim Berners-Lee, was born in this great city and it would be the ultimate tribute to him if London had the best digital games ever, not to mention the lifetime legacy of stronger internet infrastructure.”
